The band has already written the opening track to the album "With these hands" which, over the course of several months has actually evolved into two separate songs. The format, the lyrics, and 95% of the music are all in place, and we are 100% happy with what we are making. Without giving away all of the goods, we are bringing back a few familiar sounds, yet bringing out an entirely new approach and style. So far the fans who have actually heard it are saying nothing but positive things. Personally I feel it's a lot like Blind Dichotomy, one of my favorite tunes off of the first CD. The fact that we are opening the album with a bang this time is important to me as well.
Although we have four other songs pretty much laid out and close to having final formats, as well as melodies in place, we are going to write this album in the order that it will appear on the CD. We feel that, being a concept, we need to write each song as the characters and story develop, and make sure they fit together like a puzzle. The story itself is so complex and offers the potential for a three CD recording, that we have to make sure we pick each part we write about carefully.
One thing I am excited about right now is that the music and artwork and story are all working together as one....and if we can keep that magic going throughout the recording, we will be accomplishing everything we are setting out to. Until next time, see you in the forum!
